Monitoring livestock in remote environments requires reliable devices capable of collecting accurate data while operating autonomously for extended periods. Abinsula contributed to the development of a connected monitoring device designed to support precision livestock farming, enabling continuous tracking of animal movements and environmental conditions to improve decision-making and animal welfare.
The solution combines embedded hardware and firmware with GPS positioning and environmental sensors to monitor animal behavior and local microclimatic conditions. The device was engineered to operate in challenging outdoor environments, addressing key technical challenges such as low-power consumption, secure local data storage, mechanical robustness and long-term reliability. Data can be stored locally even without network connectivity, supporting continuous monitoring in remote grazing areas.
